Cyber Monday
How did Cyber Monday begin
Cyber Monday is a 'digital' event in which various e-commerce or online stores offer large discounts to consumers on many of their products. Initially, it was unique to technology brands, although over time it has branched out to other sectors. It originated in 2005 with the aim of incentivizing online purchases (at the time, there were some misgivings about making purchases online). Today, it's one of the most important days of the year for e-commerce (after Black Friday).
When is Cyber Monday?
Cyber Monday 2023 will take place on November 27, which is the Monday after Black Friday. This keeps the tradition going, which hasn't changed since it was first celebrated in 2005.
Cyber Monday deals and promotions
On Cyber Monday, there are many offers and deals to be found in online stores and e-commerce platforms. Products of all types (from computers and mobiles to books and clothing) are reduced by up to 80% in some cases, making them much more affordable.

Cyber Monday offers are only available for 24 hours. Because of this, online stores usually take advantage of this day to offer large discounts (30 or 40% on all their products), which is a significant savings compared to a regular day.
The best payment option for your Cyber Monday purchases is a credit card. You can buy online more securely and you'll be able to finance your purchases, i.e., pay them in installments.
While Black Friday offers apply to physical stores, Cyber Monday offers are exclusively online. You can find great offers in many online stores (Amazon, Ikea, Media Markt, El Corte Inglés), and on other online platforms and services.
Cyber Monday's origins date back to 2005, when online stores began offering large discounts to compete with Black Friday. Back then, online purchases were usually made from work, which is why the Monday after Black Friday and Thanksgiving was chosen.
