Singles' Day in China is celebrated on November 11. This date was chosen because 1, which stands out since it is the 11th day of the 11th month, stands for the person who is single, without a partner. Although this day has been observed in China over the years, the same cannot be said for other countries (where it arrived through retail giant Alibaba), which chose to celebrate it on other dates (Spain chose February 13, the day before Valentine's Day).

Other important dates

  • Valentine's Day is a holiday to celebrate the love between couples and friends. Valentine's Day is observed on February 14 in almost every country.
  • Father's Day is a celebration or homage dedicated to fathers. In general, the European Catholic tradition commemorates it on March 19, the feast of St. Joseph, Jesus's adoptive father.
  • Mother's Day is the date when mothers from all over the world are honored. In Spain, it's observed on the first Sunday in May, although it's generally celebrated on the second Sunday of this month.
