Find out how your carbon footprint is generated

Some of our everyday actions also contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

Cooking in an oven generates 400 g of carbon dioxide per hour

What produces these emissions?

Each oven's emissions depend on its energy efficiency. An oven with a low energy rating consumes 20% more than an efficient one, resulting in a similar increase in emissions.

What actions can lower these emissions?

Review an appliance's energy rating when buying a new one. The oven is not the most power-hungry appliance, but some practices can make it less efficient. For example, opening the door while it is on causes it to lose a lot of its stored heat. It's also beneficial to take advantage of its heat to make multiple dishes.

At BBVA, we have created the first personal carbon footprint calculator

If you are already a customer, discover how much carbon dioxide you generate with your gas, electricity and fuel consumption on the BBVA app's Sustainability Section.
