Find out how your carbon footprint is generated

Some of our everyday actions also contribute to greenhouse gas emissions.

An oak tree absorbs 5,000 kg of CO2 to live

How are these emissions absorbed?

Plants help reduce the impact of our emissions, since they need CO2 to live. However, not all require the same amount, depending on the species, age or environment in which they are located.

What benefits do oak trees offer?

It is a highly resistant species that can adapt to the most extreme conditions of the Mediterranean climate. Because of this, it is being used in reforestation efforts to populate the young forests that, in a few years, will absorb large amounts of CO2.

At BBVA, we have created the first personal carbon footprint calculator

If you are already a customer, discover how much carbon dioxide you generate with your gas, electricity and fuel consumption on the BBVA app's Sustainability Section.
