What are the requirements to apply for this health insurance for foreign nationals?

Be a foreign national intending to reside in Spain and with a passport. You must be under 75 when you take out the insurance. Depending on your situation, you must answer a few questions, do a medical survey or take a medical check up. Once you have taken out your insurance, you must wait a certain time to access certain services. Outpatient surgical operations: 3 months. High-technology diagnostic tests: 6 months. Psychology: 6 months. Childbirth or Cesarean section: 8 months. Fallopian tube tying or vasectomy: 10 months. Complex therapeutic methods: 10 months. Non-outpatient surgical procedures and hospitalization: 10 months

What does co-payment involve?

By paying a small amount (previously set) whenever you use a medical service. It's a good option if you want to be covered; but you don't go to the doctor very often.

What is the grace period?

This is the time between taking out the insurance policy and when certain assistance services or coverage can be requested.
